1

Find the Nearest Enrolment Centre

Visit appointments.uidai.gov.in to locate the nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra or enrolment centre. You can search by PIN code or city.

2

Book an Appointment (Optional but Recommended)

Book a slot online at appointments.uidai.gov.in to avoid waiting in long queues. Walk-in is also accepted at most centres.

3

Collect Required Documents

Bring any one Proof of Identity (Voter ID, Passport, PAN, Driving License) and any one Proof of Address (Utility bill, Bank passbook, Rent agreement). Birth certificate or school certificate for date of birth proof.

4

Fill the Enrolment Form

At the centre, fill in the Aadhaar Enrolment/Correction form with your personal details — name, address, date of birth, mobile number, and email.

5

Biometric Capture

The operator will capture your photograph, all 10 fingerprints, and both iris scans. Make sure your fingers are clean and dry.

6

Collect Acknowledgement Slip

After enrolment, you will receive a 14-digit Enrolment ID (EID) slip. Keep it safe — you will use it to check your Aadhaar status online.

7

Check Status and Download Aadhaar

After 5–10 working days, visit myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in to check if your Aadhaar is ready. You can download a PDF copy (e-Aadhaar) directly.

How long does it take to get Aadhaar after enrolment?

Aadhaar is typically generated within 10–90 days of enrolment. You will receive an SMS on your registered mobile. You can also download e-Aadhaar once generated.

Can I enrol a newborn baby for Aadhaar?

Yes. For children under 5, Baal Aadhaar (blue Aadhaar) is issued based on birth certificate and parents's Aadhaar. Biometrics are re-captured at age 5 and 15.
