ITR Filing Deadlines

July 31: Due date for individuals (non-audit). October 31: For audit cases. December 31: Belated return (with late fee ₹1,000–₹5,000). March 31: Updated return (ITR-U) with additional tax.

Advance Tax Deadlines

Advance tax applies if tax liability > ₹10,000. Due dates: June 15 (15%), September 15 (45%), December 15 (75%), March 15 (100%). Salaried individuals with no other income are generally exempt.

TDS Return Filing

Employers and deductors must file quarterly TDS returns: Q1 (April–June): July 31. Q2 (July–Sep): October 31. Q3 (Oct–Dec): January 31. Q4 (Jan–Mar): May 31.

GST Return Deadlines

GSTR-1 (monthly filers): 11th of next month. GSTR-3B (monthly): 20th of next month. GSTR-1 (quarterly): 13th of month after quarter end. Annual GSTR-9: December 31.

What is the penalty for missing the ITR deadline?

Late filing fee: ₹1,000 if income ≤ ₹5 lakh; ₹5,000 if income > ₹5 lakh. Interest at 1% per month on unpaid tax under Section 234A. Loss returns cannot be filed after the due date.
